• Independent publisher Spirit Music Group, known for its iconic classic rock roots, as well as its expansive catalog of classic and contemporary hits, has announced a recapitalization led by its COO Jon Singer. Now wholly-owned by the newly formed Lyric Capital Group, the company will be spearheaded by Singer and Spirit’s Ross Cameron.
Singer will become Chairman of Spirit Music Group and Managing Partner of Lyric while Cameron will continue in an executive role at Spirit and become a Partner at Lyric.
• France’s SACEM (Society of Authors, Composers and Publishers of Music) has announced the restructuring of its licensing, international and operations divisions into a single entity. Cécile Rap-Veber, former director of licensing and international for the organization, will head up the new division and move into a new role as executive director of licensing, international and operations.
• The UTA (United Talent Agency) Board of Directors on Friday announced that eight of the company’s agents — Jacob Fenton, Ken Fermaglich, Susie Fox, Ben Jacobson, Ophir Lupu, John Sacks, Bec Smith, and Mark Subias– had been named as partners at the firm.

• Nashville publicist Kirt Webster, who once represented practically every major performer to come out of Music City, has launched a website and promises to have some big news regarding the return.
Webster abruptly closed his firm Webster PR in November 2017 after accusations by singer Austin Rick, a former client of Webster who accused the PR rep of drugging and assaulting him in Webster’s home. Webster said the relationship was consensual. The accusation was followed by the Tennessean publishing accounts of inappropriate behavior by some of Webster’s former employees and interns. There were more than 20 allegations of abuse and sexual misconduct overall.
