WMG, Dubset Partner To Offer Legal DJ Mixes

Pioneer-698515_960_720Dubset, the music marketplace and rights management database for DJs and artists, has inked a deal with Warner Music Group (WMG).

Warner is the latest major label to partner with the platform whose aim it is to equip DJs with new mix and remix distribution and monetization opportunities. Sony signed on with Dubset back in August 2017. Since then Merlin, Tidal and SoundCloud have also partnered with the company.

Warner’s deal with Dubset means artists using the Dubset platform are now legally cleared to use songs from Warner’s catalog (which includes acts like Daft Punk, Bruno Mars, Cardi B, and Migos among countless others) in full-length mixes, and distribute those mixes across platforms such as Apple Music and Spotify.

According to Dubset’s website, hundreds of hours of mixes & remixes are uploaded every minute, most of which cannot access music distribution services legally. For this reason, streamlining the process to create further transparency between the labels, streaming services and DJs/artists is a win win for those involved as it serves to increase the potential for artist exposure and revenue.
