Ruthie Collins Releases Expanded Edition Of ‘Cold Comfort’ Record

Country recording artist Ruthie Collins has released an expanded version of her critically-acclaimed 2020 release, Cold Comfort, via Curb | Word Entertainment’s Sidewalk Records.

Cold Comfort + features the new track “Hypocrite,” which impacts country radio on Monday (Jan. 10). The track was co-written by Collins and her friend and Runaway June member Natalie Stovall.

Of the song, Collins shares, “I hope ‘Hypocrite’ lets people know that even though we’re all trying our best to keep it together, there’s so much freedom in owning your emotions—in moving through them instead of blocking them—and that there is true healing and love on the other side.”

Unable to tour behind the album, Collins temporarily left her adopted hometown of Nashville and headed home to her mother’s place in upstate New York. There, she recorded acoustic renditions of three Cold Comfort songs: “Hey Little Girl,” “Joshua Tree,” and “Wish You Were Here.” Cold Comfort + was co-produced by Wes Harllee and mixed by Ryan Freeland.
