R. Kelly Is Back On The Billboard Charts

image from i5.walmartimages.comR. Kelly is back in the Top 20 on Billboard. Given the horrific stories surrounding Kelly in recent weeks, perhaps it’s curiosity rather than being reminded of a favorite song. But either way, both Kelly and Sony, who just severed ties with the R&B singer for future projects, will profit.

The album “The Essential R. Kelly” re-entered the Billboard Top R&B Albums chart at #19., for the first time since 2015.  “Essential” also debuts at #144 on the Billboard 200 and #46 on the Top Catalog Albums chart.

Kelly’s hits “Ignition” and “I Believe I Can Fly”  have reentered the Billboard R&B Digital Song Sales chart at #12 and #19 respectively.  “Ignition” also has 3.1 million U.S. streams since the documentary premiered, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
