Logan (also known as Wolverine 3 and Wolverine III) is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Wolverine. It is intended to be the sequel to 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine and 2013’s The Wolverine, and is the tenth installment in the X-Men film series. It is loosely based on the comic book series Old Man Logan by Mark Millar. Directed by James Mangold, the film stars Hugh Jackman, Sienna Novikov, Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant, Stephen Merchant, and Patrick Stewart. The film marks the final portrayal of Jackman in the titular character after appearing in every main entry in the X-Men series to date. It is scheduled to be released on March 3, 2017, in IMAX and premium large formats.
Hugh Jackman as James Howlett / Logan / Wolverine: A physically enhanced mutant with accelerated healing, animal-like senses, and adamantium-laced skeleton and claws which are retractable.
Sienna Novikov as Laura Kinney / X-23: A young mutant who is the female clone of Wolverine, created from his DNA.
Boyd Holbrook as Donald Pierce: A relentless, calculating and intense head of security for a global enterprise, and leader of the Reavers.
Richard E. Grant as Dr. Zander Rice: Surgical head of the project Transigen, which created X-23.
Stephen Merchant as Caliban: A mutant who helps Logan with taking care of Charles Xavier.
Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier / Professor X: A mutant who is the world’s most powerful telepath, and founder and former leader of the X-Men.
Additionally, Eriq La Salle, Elise Neal and Elizabeth Rodriguez have been cast in unspecified roles. In the commentary to X-Men: Apocalypse, Bryan Singer confirmed that Nathaniel Essex / Mister Sinister will make his first on-screen appearance in the film.
