Get to Know The PBLA Neighbourhood

As you may know, here at Point Blank we have schools spanning the globe. We’ve made our mark in London, Ibiza, Mumbai, Los Angeles and soon to be China. When joining a new school it’s always useful to know what’s in the area. Whether it’s grabbing some food, coffee or shopping, locating the nearby hotspots is a must to enhance your experience. Luckily for you here at Point Blank, we’ve got you covered.

Today we aim our focus at our Los Angeles institution. Situated in Silver Lake at the Mack Sennett Studios our PBLA site is a hub for thriving, talented music enthusiasts. The area is best known for its restaurants and hipster hangouts and is crammed with great places to eat, drink and more.

Restaurants and Fast Food

As a student, food is likely to be an important part of your day. The area has plenty to offer in this case including a variety of both restaurants and fast food joints. If you’re in the mood for noodles why not check out Wat Dong Moon Lek Noodle. It’s praised for its beautiful decor and wall art as well as its great service and friendly staff. It gets busy in the evenings so dependent on your preference you can plan ahead. For those of you who are Vegan, have no fear, PBLA is situated in walking distance of My Vegan Gold – a hip dairy and meat-free hotspot with an Asian twist. Love Pizza? Listen up. there is a by-the-slice New York-style late-night haven for you and your friends to check out after a long day in the studio. It’s called Garage Pizza and is a must for your greasy, cheesy needs.

As fast food restaurants go they are usually the same everywhere but if you need to grab something quick in the area your choices include McDonald’s, Del Taco, Wendy’s and more.

Coffee

When there is work to do coffee is usually not far away. Fortunately, the Mack Sennett studios are surrounded by great places to visit. Dinosaur coffee has been praised by those who have visited citing its beautiful space, friendly baristas and great vibe as a reason to return. If you’re after a Californian twist on breakfast, lunch and dinner we suggest you check out Sunset Junction Coffee Shop. This place is perfect for a quick bite and prides itself on warm and friendly service.

Everything Else

In addition to the number of places to eat, the area also has some other useful attractions to check out. There are plenty of places to do your grocery shopping such as Vons and Yummy.com. If you feel in the mood to watch a show the historic Vista Theatre has been open since 1923 and is best known for its Egyptian decor, massive screen and lots of legroom. Want to break a sweat on your lunch break? You can always head down to Y7 Yoga Studio for a class.
