Bedford will lead a team of 25, who are mostly musicians themselves. All work remotely with no central office, a testament to her technological and organizational skills as well as her commitment to work-life balance.

“Bandzoogle is a company that not only values its customers but also its employees, and I aim to carry that tradition forward as CEO,” said Bedford. “As a mother of three, I know the importance of work-life balance and will work hard to ensure that we are always growing our people rather than just our company.”

After working her way up to Head of Support, Bedford was named COO of Bandzoogle in 2014. In this role, she established the company structure that has seen the 100% remote team double its productivity and launch a record number of new tools for musicians in recent years, all without increasing the price of the subscription service. These tools include SoundScan reporting for music sales, new features to help musicians sell more music and merch, and a complete revamp of the platform’s design tools.

Bedford has also overseen Bandzoogle partnerships with SOCAN, Mixcloud, Airbit, and Audiomack.

Culture Is Key

A guitar player herself, Bedford believes that her team’s love of music and musicians are an important part of Bandzoogle competitive advantage. “Within the team we have some really great, impromptu music discussions that lead to new ideas for helping our members,” she recounts. “These are things that set us apart from the bigger generic website builders, and part of our incredible workplace culture. That is key to our growth.”

“Stacey has been one of our best employees ever since she joined us over 10 years ago as one of our first hires,” said founder and Chairmen Chris Vinson. “I’m proud that our new CEO will be someone who came up through the ranks at Bandzoogle and understands our mission and culture. Our users can expect many great things to come as we move into our 15th year.”
