“Will master recordings be owned and controlled by the artist? Controlling the masters should include the exclusive rights to manufacture and distribute the masters. Also, for publishing opportunities, if a music supervisor wants to use the recording in an ad, TV series or film, the master use license (from whoever controls the master) is one of the required licenses needed to place the song.”
