‘The Roaring Crowdfund’ Explores The Wonderful World Of Music Crowdfunding

image from online.berklee.eduA new five-part podcast series, The Roaring Crowdfund follows four very different musical acts as they launch crowdfunding campaigns on Kickstarter, PledgeMusic and Indiegogo. Sponsored by, Berklee Online, the online school of Berklee College of Music, host Pat Healy and guests examine the real issues these musicians face as they try to raise money from their fans.

Healy gains insights from execs at the three major crowdfunding platforms, as well as musicians who have had crowdfunding experiences. Artists including Ted Leo, Gift of Gab of Blackalicious, Meredith Graves, Brian Rosenworcel of Guster, Mark Kelly of Marillion, and Mike Doughty of Soul Coughing, all share their journey, and Berklee Online instructors like John Kellogg, entertainment attorney and  director for Berklee Online’s Music Business master’s degree program, also weigh in.

Each act struggles in their own ways to meet their goals.

The first three episodes of The Roaring Crowdfund are available now, with new episodes released every Friday through February 1.
